American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in surgical and trauma patient care, with Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.

MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
-
Surgical and trauma patient population, including pre-op and post-op care
-
High-volume procedures include exploratory laps, hemi-colectomies, mastectomies, lap cholecystectomies, eye surgeries, and trauma and plastic surgeries
-
Lower-volume cases include GYN procedures (hysterectomy, myomectomy, etc.), palliative care, 24-hour observation, and medical overflow patients
-
Stable trauma patient care is a core focus of this role

Rapid response teams, blood product administration, and peripheral line care and management are regularly performed
-
3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
-
Weekend rotation required; holiday coverage as needed

No on-call requirements

Travelers may be floated between all health system campuses as needed

Epic EMR experience required

Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

BLS required; ACLS preferred

Epic EMR proficiency required

Experience with rapid response teams, blood product administration, and peripheral line care and management required

A valid driver's license and copies of all certifications required for consideration

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply; those with surgical or trauma experience are preferred

All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during the compliance process — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
