Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at an acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Med/Surg Telemetry (MSU) unit within a 528-bed acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY
  • Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 13-week contract
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Cardiac monitoring responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Clinical skills required include non-invasive airway management (nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks), IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, and isolation precautions
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within skillset required
  • Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis, as needed

Requirements

  • Active NY single state RN license currently in hand (NY is not a Compact state)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response protocols
  • 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
  • Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
  • The hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
