Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring telemetry monitoring experience and Epic proficiency at a hospital in North Carolina.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Specialized patient population includes stroke (neuro) patients with a variety of co-morbidities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
• Procedures include feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and IV starts
• Additional skills used include CVA care, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound VAC management
• Epic EMR used — experience is mandatory
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
• Floating required between all system facilities — all travelers are subject to this policy

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required
• Experience with feeding tube care and management required
• Experience with port access, blood product administration, central line, peripheral line, PICC line management, and IV starts required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam as part of compliance, regardless of specialty — two attempts are allowed; candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
