American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring telemetry monitoring experience and Epic proficiency at a hospital in North Carolina.

Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
-
Specialized patient population includes stroke (neuro) patients with a variety of co-morbidities
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
-
Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
-
Procedures include feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and IV starts
-
Additional skills used include CVA care, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound VAC management
-
Epic EMR used — experience is mandatory
-
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
-
Floating required between all system facilities — all travelers are subject to this policy

Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required
-
Remote telemetry monitoring experience required

Experience with feeding tube care and management required

Experience with port access, blood product administration, central line, peripheral line, PICC line management, and IV starts required

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam as part of compliance, regardless of specialty — two attempts are allowed; candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
