American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated academic medical center in Charleston, SC, requiring scrub and circulate experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Work in a large Main OR with 21 suites covering all surgical specialties, including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics

Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 staffed beds
-
RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures
-
Nursing team is comprised of approximately 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
-
Up to one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) per month required
-
On-call requirement of up to 4 call shifts per month (end of shift through 7:00 AM)

Floating within scope to similar units or sister facilities may be required as needed

Charting via Epic

Active SC RN license or compact/multi-state RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered

Current AHA certifications required: BLS

Radiation badge required (provided by agency)

Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred
-
Level I trauma center experience required

Scrub experience strongly preferred

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel rates; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Traveler will be required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas: Dec 24–26 or New Year's: Dec 31–Jan 1)

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs

Orientation modules are completed prior to start date

Scrubs are provided by the facility

During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
