American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Inpatient Rehab position requiring at least 24 months of Acute Rehab and/or Med-Surg experience and the ability to float across multiple campuses.

Inpatient Acute Rehab unit within a multi-campus hospital system
-
Patient population includes spinal cord injury, brain injury, oncology, limb loss, trauma/ortho, and general debilitation
-
Heparin drips administered on this unit
-
Day shift ratio is 5:1; night shift ratio is 7:1

Unit spans two locations: a 12-bed unit and a 23-bed unit
-
Floating required across all campuses and like units
-
Epic EMR used
-
Active Iowa (single-state) or compact/multistate RN license required
-
Active BLS certification from AHA or ARC required

Minimum 24 months of current Acute Rehab, Med-Surg, or Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital setting

Demonstrated experience caring for brain injury, limb loss, and spinal cord injury patients

Ability to independently manage a variety of patients including neuro, ortho, trauma, and oncology

At least one completed travel contract within the previous 24 months

NIHSS certification is a plus

Driver's license required for consideration

One supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years preferred for consideration

Nurses with an Acute Rehab or Med-Surg background are considered the most successful with this patient population

Travelers are required to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
-
RTO is limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving week (11/26–11/30) and the winter holiday window (12/23–1/2), regardless of holidays worked

Candidates who were employed by this facility within the 12 months prior to their submission date may not be considered

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position — at least one prior completed travel contract is required
