American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a float pool position requiring KS/MO or compact licensure, with night shifts and multi-campus floating responsibilities.

Float pool position — will not be assigned a home unit; floats between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses as needed

Patient ratio of 1:5

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
-
8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, with shifts falling on any combination of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

No on-call requirements

Block scheduling is not available for this position

Patient population includes cardiac, neuro stepdown, sepsis, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID cases

Required equipment and systems: Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell

Charge RN assignments may be required as needed

Active RN license in both Kansas and Missouri, or a compact license, must be in hand prior to consideration
-
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry specialty experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days

Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred certification: ACLS
-
Required clinical skills: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, cardiac monitoring, pre/post cardiac cath care, and experience with neuro stepdown and MS/tele settings

Preferred skills: sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
-
Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor-level or above; the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from someone who has worked with the candidate within the past year

Pending licenses are not accepted — all required licenses must be in hand at time of consideration

Willingness to float between units, departments, and multiple metro campuses is mandatory — refusal may result in assignment cancellation

Charge RN duties may be assigned on an as-needed basis

Holiday shift coverage is required as assigned by the unit
-
RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the assignment
