Description

American Traveler is hiring a Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI registration and a minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases, with required experience scanning TAVR and MitraClip procedures.

Details

  • Non-invasive cardiovascular services department within an acute care hospital setting
  • Dedicated inpatient echocardiography work with adult cardiac patient population
  • Cases include advanced structural heart procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, VAD, and closure devices
  • Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts: Sunday (any 8-hour shift), Monday through Tuesday and Thursday through Friday 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • May float to a nearby sister hospital facility
  • Epic used for charting; familiarity preferred
  • Equipment includes Philips iE33 and Epiq ultrasound systems

Requirements

  • Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential through ARDMS or CCI required
  • Current BLS certification from the AHA required
  • Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required, evidenced by institutional referral
  • Must have hands-on experience scanning TAVR and MitraClip procedures at a facility where these are performed
  • Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills required
  • Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Active NJ license required if applicable
  • Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Prepares patients for examination, explains procedures in accessible terms, and monitors patients throughout the entire study
  • Reviews prior reports, images, and patient charts prior to performing studies to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Ensures appropriate imaging techniques are used, studies are thorough, and findings are communicated to the reading physician as needed
  • Maintains exam records, logs, and inventory/supply management for the assigned area
  • TEE, Stress Echo, 3D echo imaging, and familiarity with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and ICAEL accreditation standards are preferred
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program is preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
