American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of cardiac sonographer experience and RDCS or RCS certification for an acute care echocardiography position.

Acute care hospital setting in an echocardiography/cardiac sonographer department
-
Primary location is at one facility with potential coverage at a second hospital and two outpatient clinic sites
-
Average of 8 studies per day (6 outpatient, 2 inpatient)

Primary study type is transthoracic echocardiography
-
Uses Philips echo machine, PACS, and Epic EMR
-
Cardiologist reader of the day is available on-site
-
5x8-hour day shifts with a weekend call rotation (Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM)

Holiday coverage on a call rotation basis

Minimum of 1 year of cardiac sonographer experience
-
Current BLS (AHA) certification required
-
RDCS certification through ARDMS or RCS certification through CCI required

Proficiency with Epic EMR and PACS

Experience with Philips echo equipment preferred

License required if applicable

Performs transthoracic echocardiography studies for both inpatient and outpatient populations

IV insertion is permitted if the candidate is able; assistance is available if needed

Light blue scrubs are provided by the facility

Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted

Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before re-applying
-
Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year before taking a 2-year break

2 supervisor and peer references required for consideration, along with a skills checklist completed within the past year, copies of certifications, and a driver's license
