Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Treatment Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies, ensuring smooth coordination of treatment plans and administrative processes. Your proactive approach will help enhance patient experience, streamline clinical workflows, and ensure accurate documentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while utilizing your expertise in medical/dental coding, billing, and records management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of contact for patients regarding treatment schedules, procedures, and follow-up care
  • Assist providers with treatment planning by reviewing medical records, insurance authorizations, and coding requirements such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and clinical notes within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Verify insurance coverage and process pre-authorizations using detailed knowledge of medical billing and collections procedures
  • Collaborate with billing departments to ensure proper coding for procedures and diagnoses to optimize reimbursement
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records while adhering to privacy regulations and organizational standards
  • Educate patients on their treatment options, financial responsibilities, and next steps in their care journey

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a medical/dental office setting with familiarity in medical/dental terminology and records management
  • Strong knowledge of coding including CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems
  • Experience with medical/dental billing and collections processes to facilitate accurate reimbursement
  • Proficiency in EMR or EHR systems for documentation and data entry
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, providers, and insurance companies
  • Ability to interpret complex medical/dental information accurately and efficiently
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards related to medical records privacy and security
