Performs complex legal secretarial work in support of the Office of Administrative Hearings. Performs a wide range of complex tasks and maintains confidentiality of sensitive correspondence and communications. Work requires contact with high-level executives, attorneys, governmental agencies, and officials. Creates and maintains case files, office calendar and databases; performs legal administrative support work such as preparing and editing correspondence, reports, forms, and documents; logging and tracking case statuses and deadlines; compiling statistical data; creating reports; scheduling and coordinating meetings and hearings; responding to written and oral inquiries. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Associate degree or equivalent college education course work plus four (4) years' experience in legal support work. Additional work-related experience may be substituted for college education on a year per year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent.

A valid Class "C" driver's license is required. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. A satisfactory driving record is required for operating state or personal vehicles to conduct department business.
