UI/UX Designer

BRIEF SUMMARY

The Product Designer (UI/UX) plays a critical role in shaping the architecture, structure, and user experience of PrecisionCare software solutions. This position is responsible for translating business, clinical, and technical requirements into well-structured software designs that support scalability, security, maintainability, and usability across modernized systems.

This role is heavily involved in the modernization of Precision Care's legacy web form application into a modern single page application. The Designer partners closely with Developers, Product, QA, and Leadership to define system architecture, data flows, UI/UX patterns, and integration strategies before and during implementation.

The ideal candidate brings strong system design expertise, an eye for user-centered design, and the ability to evaluate trade-offs across performance, security, and maintainability. The Designer is also expected to leverage AI-assisted design and development tools to improve design efficiency, produce high-quality specifications, and validate architecture decisions early in the lifecycle.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role. You will own design from concept to delivery - wireframes, prototypes, design system components, and final handoff specs. Strong Figma skills and comfort working in an async, distributed environment are essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Technical Leadership & Modernization

• Define high-level and detailed software architecture for new and modernized systems
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable application structures aligned with PrecisionCare standards
• Establish and enforce design patterns, architectural principles, and technical guidelines
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and component models
• Evaluate legacy systems and design modernization strategies aligned with long-term goals

User Experience & System Design

• Partner with Product and stakeholders to translate business and clinical workflows into system designs
• Design intuitive user experiences for web applications
• Ensure usability, accessibility, and consistency across applications
• Collaborate with Developers to ensure designs are implemented as intended
• Validate design decisions through reviews, prototypes, and technical walkthroughs

Collaboration with Development & Product Teams

• Work closely with Software Developers to ensure architectural designs are feasible and efficient
• Support Development teams by providing clear technical specifications and design artifacts
• Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and design reviews
• Communicate design rationale, constraints, and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Align design solutions with Product roadmaps and delivery timelines

Security, Compliance & Data Design

• Incorporate security-by-design principles into all system architectures
• Ensure designs protect sensitive healthcare and patient data
• Align system designs with industry-standard security frameworks and best practices
• Define system boundaries, access controls, and data handling strategies
• Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance requirements through clear documentation

AI-Assisted Design & Innovation

• Leverage AI tools to assist with system modeling, design validation, and documentation
• Use AI-assisted approaches to explore alternative architectures and design optimizations
• Ensure AI-generated outputs are reviewed, refined, and aligned with Precision Care standards
• Mentor team members on effective and responsible use of AI in design workflows

Documentation & Process

• Work closely with Product, QA, Support, and Leadership 
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions clearly and proactively 
• Participate in team meetings and knowledge‑sharing sessions
• Produce clear, comprehensive design documentation for systems and integrations
• Maintain living design artifacts that evolve with the system
• Contribute to internal design standards, templates, and best practices
• Advocate for improved design processes and earlier design involvement in projects

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Strong experience designing modern web application interfaces and user experiences
• Proficiency with Figma (components, auto layout, prototyping, design systems)
• Ability to create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility, and responsive design
• Experience designing for Angular based front end applications (component driven UI)
• Ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive, user friendly interfaces
• Familiarity with RESTful API concepts to design UI interactions that align with backend capabilities
• Experience conducting user research, gathering requirements, and validating design decisions
• Ability to collaborate closely with product managers, developers, QA, and support teams
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate design exploration and improve quality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across distributed teams

PREFERRED

• Experience modernizing legacy applications or redesigning outdated user interfaces
• Experience working in healthcare or regulated environments
• Familiarity with Classic ASP or legacy UI patterns to support modernization
• Experience creating design systems, component libraries, or reusable UI patterns
• Exposure to usability testing, heuristic evaluation, or user research methods
• Understanding of front-end development constraints (HTML/CSS/Angular) to ensure feasible designs
• Experience designing for cloud based or SaaS applications

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, product design, or interaction design
• Bachelor’s in design, human‑computer interaction (HCI), visual communication, or a related field
