UI/UX Engineer

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a UI/UX Developer to support the design and development of modern, scalable web applications. This role requires a good blend of design understanding, interaction design, and front- end collaboration to deliver intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences. Experience designing or building web applications within U.S. school systems (K-12 or higher education) is a plus. This individual will work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective, user-centered solutions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support the end-to-end UX design process (research → wireframes → prototypes → high-fidelity designs → usability testing)
  • Design intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing web interfaces
  • Translate complex workflows into seamless, user-friendly experiences
  • Contribute to user personas, journey maps, and interaction models
  • Help build and maintain design systems and reusable UI component libraries
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
  • Participate in usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Optimize user experience for performance, scalability, and responsiveness across devices
  • Support product decisions with user-centric insights

Required Qualifications


  • 2–4 years of experience in UI/UX design or front-end development for web applications
  • Strong portfolio showcasing web application design (beyond marketing websites)
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Solid understanding of usability principles and human-centered design
  • Basic knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams
  • Familiarity with design systems and reusable components
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)


  • Experience designing systems for U.S. K–12 or higher education environments
  • Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS), LMS platforms, or school administration tools
  • Understanding of FERPA and privacy-focused UX design
  • Experience designing dashboards for administrators, teachers, and parents
  • Exposure to EdTech platforms such as PowerSchool, Clever, or ClassLink
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies (React, HTML, CSS)
