Job Description
The Department of Psychological Science and the Neuroscience Program at Weber State University in Ogden, UT invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Neuroscience beginning July 1, 2026. There are existing facilities for behavioral neuroscience research (e.g., animal vivarium, wet lab, etc.).

Job Duties
The candidate should demonstrate the ability and interest to teach courses in the Neuroscience curriculum, which may include: Intro to Neuroscience, Neuroscience Labs, Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical Neuroscience, Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Neuroethics, Perception, Neuropsychopharmacy, and electives in the candidate’s area of expertise.

Additionally, candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and experience mentoring students in research. Tenure and tenure-track faculty teach a 4-4 load (12 credits per semester). Candidates are also expected to maintain their own scholarly research and provide service to the program, college, and university.

Required Qualifications
Required:
  • Candidates with a Ph.D. by July 1, 2026 will be given preference, but strong ABDs will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
  • Ph.D. from a neuroscience program or a program with strong neuroscience training.
  • Candidates with expertise in Clinical Neuroscience or Computational Neuroscience.
