Position Overview
Primary Purpose Of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to support the clinical laboratory operations by performing a wide range of routine and moderately complex laboratory procedures, including specimen collection, processing, testing, and documentation. This role ensures the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of laboratory results through adherence to established protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory standards, including CLIA , OSHA , and institutional policies.
The position supports healthcare providers by delivering essential diagnostic data that contributes to patient assessment, treatment decisions, and continuity of care. Additionally, this role assists with maintaining laboratory equipment, inventory, and safety practices, while promoting a patient-centered environment through professional interaction, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA standards.
Primary Function Of Organizational Unit
The primary function of the Student Health Center Laboratory is to provide timely, accurate, and reliable diagnostic laboratory services in support of the Student Health Center’s mission to promote student health, wellness, and academic success. The laboratory supports clinical decision-making by performing routine and CLIA -waived testing, specimen collection, and processing while maintaining compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
The laboratory unit collaborates with healthcare providers and campus health partners to ensure efficient patient care, disease prevention, and public health response, while upholding confidentiality, professionalism, and continuous quality improvement within the healthcare delivery system
Work Hours
Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (temporary; schedule may vary based on clinic needs)
