Jon Summary: Teachers at Cross Schools will inspire students spiritually, and academically. Key Responsibilities:
- Biblical Integration: Incorporate Christian values and Biblical principles into daily lessons and class discussions. Use Scripture to draw connections between God's truth and academic subjects, fostering a Christian worldview in students' understanding of Science, Math, English, and other subjects.
- Instructional Excellence: Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state standards and promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Student Engagement: Cultivate a positive classroom environment that motivates students to engage actively in learning. Encourage both academic inquiry and spiritual reflection.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Assess student performance through various methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and observations, ensuring that both academic and spiritual growth are prioritized. Provide constructive feedback to students to support their development.
- Character Development: Model Christ-like behavior and encourage students to live out their faith by demonstrating Christian values in and outside the classroom.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, respectful, and disciplined classroom environment. Address behavior issues with grace and compassion, aligning with the school's Christian ethos.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other faculty, staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive academic program and actively participate in school functions, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Parent & Community Communication: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication on student progress and school events. Serve as a spiritual mentor and positive role model within the school and local community.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant subject area is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Valid teaching certification is required.
- Previous teaching experience, ideally in a Christian school setting, is preferred.
- Strong Biblical knowledge with the ability to integrate Scripture into academic subjects.
