UPS Technicians - Facility Maintenance - Qatar University (Permanent)

We are hiring experienced UPS Technicians / Industrial Electricians on behalf of one of the largest Facilities Management (FM) companies in Qatar for a permanent position at Qatar University.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in UPS operation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance, along with proven expertise in industrial electrical systems supporting critical facilities.

• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Salary: QAR 1,900 + FTA (provided by the company)
• Working Schedule: 6 Days per Week, 9 Hours per Day

As a UPS Technician, you are responsible for the installation, operation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of UPS systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply for critical electrical equipment. You will diagnose and troubleshoot system faults, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure all activities comply with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and facility management requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of UPS systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot UPS faults, alarms, and performance issues
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of UPS and associated electrical equipment
• Monitor UPS performance to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical systems
• Replace batteries, modules, and electrical components as required
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and site regulations
• Maintain accurate service reports, logs, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and site teams for smooth operations
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely technical support

Requirements & QualificationsEducation & Training

• 1.5 to 2 years full-time technical training course in Industrial Electrical / UPS Systems
• Training must be from a recognized technical institute in the candidate’s home country

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of extensive hands-on experience in:
• UPS operation
• Testing and commissioning
• Maintenance of industrial UPS systems
• Minimum 2 years GCC experience is an added advantage

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and UPS technologies
• Experience with different UPS brands and capacities
• Ability to efficiently troubleshoot electrical and power-related issues
• Familiarity with batteries, rectifiers, inverters, and control panels

Other Requirements

• Ability to work long hours and 6-day work schedules
• Physically fit for site-based technical work
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Team player with a responsible and safety-focused attitude

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates currently available or willing to relocate to Qatar
• Prior experience working in universities, hospitals, data centers, or other critical facilities is a plus
