Upwork Bidder / Business Development Executive (Software Industry)

Company Overview

We are a fast-growing software development and technology solutions company specializing in web and mobile applications, CRM/ERP systems, SaaS platforms, and digital transformation projects. We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Upwork Bidder who can communicate effectively, build client relationships, and successfully convert leads into sales through professional proposal writing and client engagement.

Job Summary

The Upwork Bidder will be responsible for identifying, bidding, and closing projects on Upwork and other freelance marketplaces. This individual should have strong communication skills, a good understanding of software technologies, and the ability to understand client requirements clearly. The goal is to convert leads into long-term clients through trust-building and solution-oriented communication.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Bidding

  • Search for relevant projects on Upwork, Freelancer, and other platforms.
  • Write customized, high-impact proposals tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Understand project scope and suggest the best technical solutions or team resources.

Client Communication

  • Engage professionally with clients through chat, video calls, or written proposals.
  • Clarify requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates, and discuss project timelines.
  • Conduct follow-ups on open bids and respond to client queries promptly.

Sales & Negotiation

  • Handle client objections tactfully and negotiate effectively to close deals.
  • Collaborate with technical and project management teams to finalize scope and deliverables.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities and ensure monthly revenue targets are met.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of proposals, client interactions, and closed projects.
  • Prepare weekly performance reports on leads, conversion rates, and bidding success.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of proven experience as an Upwork Bidder, Business Development Executive, or similar role in the software industry.
  • Strong understanding of software services (web development, mobile apps, SaaS, CRM, e-commerce, APIs, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet performance KPIs.
  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Zoho CRM, or Trello is a plus.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven track record of closing projects worth $5,000+ on Upwork or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of project estimation, wireframing, or requirement documentation.
  • Prior experience working with international clients (US, Canada, UK, EU, Middle East).

Compensation Structure

We offer a flexible compensation model:

  • Option 1: Fixed base salary with monthly performance bonuses.
  • Option 2: Commission-based model with a high revenue-share structure.
  • Option 3: Hybrid plan — lower base + high commission on project closures.

(Salary/commission will be negotiated based on experience and performance.)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Rs100,000.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
