Autism Center of Excellence is hiring an experienced US HR Specialist with strong expertise in managing US payroll, HR compliance, and benefits administration. We’re looking for someone who has previously supported a US-based company and is confident handling multi-state payroll, onboarding, and HR operations independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for US W-2 employees and 1099 contractors accurately and on time.
- Manage onboarding documentation including W-4s, I-9s, direct deposit forms, and other new-hire paperwork.
- Oversee the full onboarding and offboarding processes for US team members.
- Maintain precise HR and payroll records while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Administer employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401(k) programs.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, and supporting documentation.
- Support performance management cycles, HR policy updates, and internal communications.
- Generate HR metrics and assist leadership during audits and compliance reviews.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling HR and payroll for US-based employees (required).
- Strong knowledge of US payroll laws, multi-state tax rules, and compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience with Gusto Payroll or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of W-2 vs. 1099 classifications.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work US business hours (EST).
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, and HRIS tools.

- Experience in healthcare, billing, or technology environments.
- Knowledge of benefits administration and employee compliance processes.
