Due Diligence - Income Calculation
within the residential mortgage lending process. The position plays a critical part in evaluating borrower eligibility by reviewing income, credit, and financial documentation to assess overall risk. Working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, you will ensure that loan files meet internal lending standards as well as regulatory and compliance requirements.
The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. You will collaborate with underwriting, processing, and quality teams to support informed credit decisions while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and compliance. Flexibility to work night shifts is essential, as the role supports global mortgage operations.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze residential mortgage loan applications to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with underwriting guidelines

Verify borrower income using tax returns, pay stubs, W-2s, bank statements, and other supporting financial documents

Assess employment stability, credit history, debt obligations, and overall borrower risk profile

Calculate and validate key financial ratios such as Debt-to-Income (DTI) and Loan-to-Value (LTV)

Evaluate credit reports to determine borrower creditworthiness and identify potential risk indicators

Review appraisal reports to confirm property valuation accuracy and alignment with loan requirements

Ensure all loan files adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies before approval

Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate resolutions within required timelines

Accurately document findings and updates using mortgage processing systems and financial tools

Maintain high productivity and quality standards while meeting tight turnaround times
What Makes You a Great Fit

Bachelor's degree in any discipline, with a strong foundation in finance, operations, or analytics

2-5 years of experience in mortgage processing, underwriting, or income calculation roles

Solid understanding of mortgage industry regulations, underwriting guidelines, and compliance requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and credit reports

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial and borrower data

Proficiency in mortgage processing software, financial systems, and Microsoft Office tools

Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
