The Walmart/VIZIO Team is a dynamic group of engineers focused on building robust, scalable platforms that enable seamless content sharing and social engagement. We operate with a product-driven mindset, leveraging modern Python frameworks and cloud technologies to deliver high-impact solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping our backend architecture and advancing our mission to deliver best-in-class digital experiences.

What You’ll Do:

  • Architect and implement scalable backend systems using FastAPI, asyncio, and Python

  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL database architectures with performance tuning

  • Develop data processing pipelines leveraging cloud services and storage solutions

  • Implement caching strategies, rate limiting, and secure authentication mechanisms for APIs

  • Drive comprehensive test coverage with unit, integration, and load testing frameworks

  • Lead code reviews, technical design discussions, and mentor junior engineers

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of senior-level backend development experience

  • Expert-level Python programming skills with async/await patterns and concurrent programming

  • Strong experience with FastAPI and advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL/SQLAlchemy

  • Proven track record building high-availability, scalable API services

  • Experience with serverless architecture, cloud functions, and CI/CD processes

  • Expertise with pytest framework, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure automation

  • Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $99,000.00-$198,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
