ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Leadership & Supervision
    • Lead, schedule, train, and mentor field or customer-service staff
    • Fill in for supervisors when needed
    • Provide performance feedback; assist with disciplinary actions and appraisals
  • Operations & Maintenance
    • Oversee water, wastewater, or street systems operations and maintenance activities
    • Perform routine testing, sampling, troubleshooting, and repairs on pumps, valves, chemical-feed systems, or distribution networks
    • Coordinate with labs/contractors for sludge hauling, chemical deliveries, and maintenance services
  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of plant operations, sample results, and compliance metrics
    • Prepare daily operation reports and highlight critical incidents
  • Safety & Emergency Response
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and escalate unsafe conditions
    • Lead emergency response efforts; restore service after breakdowns
  • Customer Service & Escalation
    • Handle complex technical issues and public inquiries
    • Resolve escalations and build cross-departmental collaboration

ARE THSES YOUR SECERET INGRIDENTS

    • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in water, wastewater, or utility management preferred
    • Required certifications (e.g., Water & Wastewater Operator; TCEQ, EPA, or equivalent)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 3–5 years in utility operations or maintenance
    • Supervisory or lead role experience preferably
    • Strong mechanical aptitude; troubleshooting mechanical/piping systems
    • Analytical skills for sample testing and SCADA/automation systems
    • Excellent oral and written communication; report writing
    • Working knowledge of MS Office and maintenance software
    • Awareness of safety standards, regulations, and compliance
