What you will do:
Coach commodity teams for one subdivision through every step – from fact base development to negotiation execution
Challenge the team – empower them to adopt a should-cost mindset and bring a fresh, value-oriented perspective
Ensure daily rhythm and progress – drive weekly check-ins, define and allocate tasks within the team, and hold team members accountable
Support the team in applying the analytical toolbox for material cost optimization, including conducting selected analyses and generate ideas / leverages yourself where appropriate
Support the team to get stakeholders involvement in negotiation preparation (ex: cost engineering, supplier cost analysts)
Prepare teams for negotiation – build a robust fact base, conduct mock negotiations, and ensure teams enter discussions fully prepared
Step in when required – take over negotiation strategy and execution when necessary
Approve negotiation results from teams and ensure booking for negotiation results
Act as the link between commodity teams and Value Creation Program leadership – prepare leadership reviews, flag issues early, and mobilize support when needed
Report hierarchically to head of EE VCAL team and functionally to global head of DMC Subdivision
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related fields
8 years of experience in Purchasing, Product Cost Optimization or Value Optimization
Proven experience coaching or developing peers
Fluent in cost reduction methodologies and tools, with the ability to rigorously challenge a should-cost model
A negotiator at heart – you approach situations with the belief that everything is negotiable
You do not accept “good enough”
Able to manage multiple actions simultaneously without compromising quality or momentum
Communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization
