Valve Tester

Overview:
The tester is responsible for testing of valve products in a rapid response, "quick ship" environment. Products will be function tested, properly documented, and prepped for blasting and painting. All equipment is tested through a series of seat, hydrostatic, and valve & instrument diagnostics programs in adherence to quality guidelines.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Inspects parts to assure they are clean and free of contaminates.
  • Reviews and verifies work/sales order to customer requirements.
  • Verify parts per bill of material and drawings. Assemble parts in proper sequence, as specified in the drawings or method specifications.
  • Select and mount proper adapters in test equipment and make adjustments to assure adequate seating of valve product.
  • Utilizes and abides by ISO/API and Safety Procedures.
  • Perform hydrostatic shell and seat tests following test procedures. Test valves or sub-components per applicable procedure or sales order including functional testing.
  • Visually inspect for leakage during tests.
  • Performs complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Set up complex test equipment on a variety of products to measure and record valve or system conformance to test specifications. Sets up test stands with appropriate plumbing for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cryogenic tests from required product test specifications.
  • Verifies accuracy of test stand and set-up prior to testing and makes necessary adjustments to attain specified test results. Trouble shoots and resolves most set up problems independently
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience (1 year).
  • Well organized and able to work minimal supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate required equipment necessary for task at hand

  • Pulling/pushing, bending, standing, sitting, and walking are all encountered throughout the workday
  • Lifting requirement of 45 pounds
