Van Driver (Childcare Center)

Job Title: Childcare Center Van Driver (Part-Time Split Shift – Morning & Afternoon)
Location: Omaha, NE

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Childcare Center Van Driver to join our team. This part-time position follows a split shift schedule, with routes in the morning and afternoon and time off in the middle of the day. This flexible weekday schedule may be a great fit for candidates balancing other commitments.

In this role, you will safely transport children between local schools and our childcare center while maintaining a positive, professional presence. The Van Driver plays an important role in supporting families and ensuring the smooth daily operation of our childcare program.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Morning route and afternoon route (split shift)
• No late evenings or weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a childcare center van or small shuttle bus
• Transport children to and from local elementary schools
• Follow all local traffic laws and childcare transportation safety regulations
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure children are properly secured and supervised during transport
• Maintain accurate mileage, trip, and vehicle inspection logs
• Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and center management
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Previous experience as a van driver, school driver, shuttle driver, delivery driver, or commercial driver preferred, but not required. Will train the right person!
• Strong understanding of safe driving practices and route management
• Dependable, punctual, and organized
• Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with children and families
• Ability to assist children entering and exiting the vehicle safely
• Must pass a background check and meet childcare licensing transportation requirements
