Job Summary:

The Van Salesman is responsible for selling and delivering products directly to customers using a company van. The role requires excellent product knowledge, strong customer service skills, and the ability to achieve sales targets while maintaining accurate records of deliveries, collections, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:Sales & Customer Service

· Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.

· Identify new customers and convert potential leads into sales.

· Maintain and build strong relationships with existing customers.

· Promote and upsell additional products to increase sales revenue.

· Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer issues promptly.

Delivery & Route Management

· Deliver products to customers as per assigned route and schedule.

· Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.

· Plan and organize daily route to maximize efficiency.

· Load and unload products safely from the vehicle.

Inventory & Cash Handling

· Maintain stock levels in the van and conduct daily stock reconciliation.

· Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of products (FIFO).

· Collect payments (cash/cheque/card) from customers and submit to accounts.

· Maintain accurate records of invoices, receipts, and deliveries.

Vehicle Maintenance

· Ensure the van is clean, safe, and in good working condition.

· Perform routine checks and report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.

· Follow all traffic and safety rules while driving.

Reporting & Documentation

· Prepare daily sales reports, delivery summaries, and customer feedback updates.

· Report market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.

· Maintain updated customer lists and route books.
