Vehicle Acquisition Specialist

Putnam Automotive Group is one of the Bay Area's premier multi-franchise dealership groups, operating Honda, Kia, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota, Chevrolet/GMC, CDJR, and Volvo stores across Burlingame and San Carlos. We are launching a new group-level private party vehicle acquisition program and are looking for our first Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to build it with us.

What you'll do

• Source and purchase private party vehicles on behalf of all Putnam stores using platform that aggregate and work listings from Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, AutoTrader, Cars.com, and other private seller channels
• Conduct outreach to private sellers via phone, text, and email to evaluate, negotiate, and close purchases
• Perform mobile appraisals — meeting sellers at their location to inspect and purchase vehicles
• Coordinate vehicle delivery and placement to the appropriate store within the Putnam group
• Maintain accurate records of all acquisitions using our group stock number system
• Target 18–25+ vehicle purchases per month

What we're looking for

• Experience in automotive retail, used car buying, or vehicle appraisal strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of vehicle valuation tools (Black Book, MMR, Manheim, KBB)
• Confident negotiator — comfortable working directly with private sellers
• Self-starter who thrives in an autonomous, performance-driven environment
• Highly organized with the ability to manage a high volume of active leads simultaneously
• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
• Comfortable with mobile work — significant time will be spent in the field conducting appraisals

Pay: $6,000.00 - $20,000.00 per month

Experience:

• Used Car Appraisal: 2 years (Required)
• Automotive Dealership: 1 year (Required)
