Job Description
General Description:
The Venue Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for the NOVA Event Services venues Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center and Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall. This position focuses on positioning the venues as the preferred choice for performing arts groups, concert promoters, and event planners seeking professional and flexible spaces.

Duties and Tasks:
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies that highlight the value and versatility of the venues.
  • Manage and grow social media presence to reach potential renters and industry professionals.
  • Create compelling graphics, brochures, and digital content that showcase the spaces.
  • Conduct outreach to performing arts organizations, concert promoters, and event producers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and industry contacts to generate leads and repeat rentals.
  • Track marketing efforts and recommend improvements to increase bookings.
  • Collaborate with the rentals group to connect clients with the appropriate booking coordinators and suggest suitable venues.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding marketing initiatives and results.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in venue marketing and recommend industry best practices.


Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.



KSA's/Required Qualifications
KSAs:
  • Strong sales and communication skills with confidence in outreach and client engagement.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and stay organized.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media advertising platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of clients, community members, and colleagues.
  • Ability to effectively promote events to target audiences, using both traditional and digital channels
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies, coupled with a creative mindset to conceive and implement unique event ideas, is also essential.


Minimum Work Experience:
  • Experience in marketing and/or social media management.
  • Experience working as an Event Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, or Event Planner
  • Experience in venue or event marketing.

Additional Considerations
  • Experience with amateur or professional production organizations and community theatrical groups.
  • Experience in the event industry, live theater, production or a related field.
  • Experience working with higher education or nonprofit organizations.
