Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor vessel performance using digital platforms, noon reports, and sensor data.
- Analyze KPIs such as fuel consumption, speed, hull/propeller performance, and energy efficiency indicators (EEDI, EEOI, CII).
- Develop and maintain vessel performance dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with ship staff to validate performance data and ensure accurate reporting.
- Recommend operational and technical improvements for fuel and emissions optimization (e.g., hull cleaning, voyage planning, engine tuning).
- Support decarbonization initiatives, including CII management and energy efficiency improvement plans (SEEMP Part III).
- Work closely with superintendents, ship managers, and commercial teams to align performance initiatives with operational goals.
- Assist in implementing performance monitoring tools and integrating third-party solutions (e.g., weather routing, voyage optimization).
- Stay updated on IMO regulations and industry best practices related to vessel energy efficiency and emissions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
- Seagoing experience as a marine engineer or background in vessel performance analysis.
- Familiarity with marine performance tools and software
- Understanding of marine propulsion systems, hydrodynamics, and energy efficiency principles.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Good communication skills to interface with technical teams, crew, and management.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (IMO DCS, CII, EU ETS) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in data analysis and scripting
- Understanding of digital twin or machine learning concepts in maritime performance.
