Veterinary Receptionist

JOB DESCRIPTION

AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital is seeking a receptionist to join our team. We are a ten-doctor two-location practice, Animal Ark Pet Hospital (Millcreek) and Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital (East Erie). We are a progressive, full-spectrum small animal practice seeking a motivated, dedicated, and hard-working veterinary receptionist to join our team.

We currently have one opening at our East Side location, Animal Kingdom Pet Hospital. The hours are evenings (12 pm-7:30 pm), and rotating Saturdays are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record-keeping duties, including clerical duties related to patient care and treatment
• Provide miscellaneous support to hospital managers and the healthcare team.
• Cash/Credit Card processing
• Word processing and mail service
• Practical knowledge of the standard procedures, veterinary records, and terminology used in the hospital
• Understands usage and dosage for commonly used prescription drugs, including heartworm preventative and prescription flea control products (Preferred)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Client education on preventative medicine
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced setting
• Computer skills (experience with Idexx Cornerstone is a plus)

EXPERIENCE

• 1+ years in small animal practice (Preferred)

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

SCHEDULE

• 8-hour shifts
• 12-hour shifts
• Rotating Saturdays
• NO SUNDAYS or MAJOR HOLIDAYS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
