Veterinary Technician/technical assistant

Pay scale determined by certification/aptitude/experience and performance

Needed immediately for small animal/exotics veterinary clinic -must have at least 2 years experience in a veterinary clinic . CVT/RVT would be ideal-assistant with experience working in a small animal clinic would be alternative..

We are looking for a detail oriented, self motivated, enthusiastic person to join our team who can handle both veterinary technical duties as well as client education/receptionist tasks Team member needs to be proficient at restrain of small animals (exotics are a plus but can be trained) for exams/blood draws/catheters-must be able to learn use of IDEXX catalyst blood and urine machines quickly, be able to draw cephalic and jugular samples, give subcutaneous and intramuscular injections and understand basic preventative care for dogs/cats -Duties will include kneeling on the floor and restraint of large dogs-

Receptionist/client care duties will include client education on preventative care of pets, answering phones, running our IDEXX cornerstone software, checking in and out of appointments, scheduling,etc. Some cleaning, end of day duties, etc are part of the position.

Employee will need to be friendly and a good communicator, with attention to paperwork details and knowledgeable with computer software and a good work ethic-a "self starter" . This is a busy practice, so ability to deal with multiple tasks is critical, as is the ability to prioritize tasks.

Minimum non-negotiable hours needed are Mon 12:30-close (6ish) Tues 12:30-close (6ish), Wed 12:30-close (6 ish), Some Fridays 12:30-close (6-7ish) as 1-3 Saturdays/month 8:30-1:30 .MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THESE HOURS THROUGH AT LEAST SPRING OF 2026 and summer of 2026 so students who cannot guarantee this availability due to changing school schedules will not be able to be considered.

Hourly wage dependent on past experience and proficiency at detail, Veterinary technician certification, dependability in getting assigned tasks completed in a satisfactory and timely manner, etc as well as proficiency at receptionist/office duties. We believe in small town service, one-on-one friendly interaction and client education as well as excellent animal medical care for small animals and exotics.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 30 per week
