The Vehicle Systems Engineering and Test (VSET) business office is looking for a qualified business office supervisor to manage the Vehicle Hardware and Engineering Systems (VHES) team. This is a global team consisting of Integration, Systems Engineering, CAD, PVT, EL&D, and TVM. The individual will lead the day-to-day business operations for the function, including establishing, delivering and tracking the budgets and headcount across all cost elements required to support Global Operations. To be successful, the individual will need to fully understand the operations of the VHES activities in order to accurately represent VHES in daily interactions with the finance and planning organizations. This individual will focus his/her efforts on the processes, tools and data related to the budgets/ forecasting as well as the day-to-day business support required to keep the operations running efficiently.


You'll have...

  • BBA or BS is required.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Functional knowledge/Experience with the following areas of the business:
  • Functional PD (VHES Operational Experience preferred)
  • PD Finance (Budgeting / Forecasting / Accruals)
  • Purchasing (Ariba Purchase Orders, Obeya Room approval)
  • PD Planning (Cycle Plan, Modeling)

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

In this position...

  • Lead Global VHES Budget/Actuals/Forecast Process
    • Work with all VHES Sub-functions (Integration, Systems Engineering, CAD, PVT, EL&D, TVM, Centrals) to develop Total Organization budgets and monthly forecasts.
    • Establish standing cadence review status with global functional leads to ensure alignment on budget, actuals and forecast.
    • Develop strong understanding of all VHES costs and drive process to be physical based for all budget line items.
    • Create and drive opportunities to reduce present spending levels in line with budget; support team implementation.
    • Manage organizational headcount levels and headcount costs, including status to budget and Calendarization.
      • Track ins/outs/open requisitions working with Workforce Dashboard and leads.
    • Manage VHES purchased service budget (checkbook) including forecast, calendarization, and line item tracking.
      • Lead annual contract renewal process, ensuring timely approval of all annual contracts.
    • Ensure VHES compliance and accuracy of Timetracker reporting
  • Lead VHES / Finance Interface
    • Align with Finance on monthly forecasts, ensuring accurate forecasts backed by data.
    • Follow-up on all disconnects, supporting all Global VHES Activities.
  • Establish strong link between the Cycle Plan and the functional operations.
    • Utilize timetracker data to identify and resolve modeling disconnects within individual programs.
      • Investigate physicals-based models where applicable
    • Identify Non-Program disconnects between the cycle plan and functional VHES initiatives; resolve through CP Planning discussions.

What you'll do...

  • Manage Central Processes for VHES, including Overtime Approvals, Hiring Approvals.
  • Act as Go-To person for all business-related inquiries including use of central FAB card.
  • Support VHES Cross-Activity assignments as requested (e.g. All Hands Meetings, Director presentation assistance).
  • Strengthen and leverage key internal (e.g. ELMS Team) and external (e.g. Finance, Planning) relationships to identify process improvements and transparency of data.
