About the Role

The Vice President of Marketing serves as a strategic leader responsible for shaping, directing, and executing ECPI University’s overall marketing vision. This position calls for an energetic, results-oriented professional who can inspire collaboration, communicate effectively across all organizational levels, and deliver impactful marketing initiatives with accuracy and accountability.

This role oversees a diverse marketing team and manages all facets of the university’s marketing efforts across digital (SEM, SEO, display, email, social media) and traditional (PR, TV, radio, print) channels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to “read the room,” anticipate challenges, and ensure alignment between marketing strategies and the university’s overarching objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted leader who upholds and promotes the University’s mission, core values, and ethical standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower the marketing team to cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with institutional priorities and goals.
  • Act as a key liaison between the Marketing Department and executive leadership, Admissions, and Business Development to ensure message consistency and strategic alignment.
  • Manage and forecast the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
  • Conduct and apply competitive market analyses to guide strategic decisions and strengthen branding and outreach efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key vendors and partners, including media, data, PR, and creative agencies.
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives across web development, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and social media engagement.
  • Provide executive-level support for institutional communications, presentations, and proposals.
  • Monitor and analyze key marketing metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and continuously refine strategies.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor the marketing team to maintain a collaborative, high-performing work environment.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience serving at the Director or Vice President level within a professional services organization.
  • Experience in for-profit higher education is highly preferred.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in marketing and senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, execution, and project management.
