The Vice Principal supports the Principal in providing academic leadership and administrative management of the school. The role ensures high standards of teaching, learning, discipline, and student development while assisting in strategic planning and daily operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
- Support the Principal in curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor classroom teaching and learning processes
- Guide and mentor teachers for professional development
- Ensure compliance with board (CBSE/ICSE/State) academic guidelines
- Oversee assessment systems, examinations, and result analysis
Administrative Duties
- Assist in school planning, policies, and procedures
- Supervise daily school operations and timetables
- Coordinate with academic coordinators, HODs, and staff
- Handle staff attendance, workload allocation, and substitutions
- Ensure smooth conduct of school events, exams, and activities
Student Management
- Maintain student discipline and welfare
- Address student behavioral and academic concerns
- Support counseling initiatives and child safety policies
- Encourage holistic development through co-curricular activities
Parent & Community Relations
- Interact with parents regarding academic and behavioral issues
- Support parent-teacher meetings and school communications
- Represent the school in meetings, inspections, and events
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to education board norms and statutory requirements
- Assist during inspections and audits
- Promote continuous improvement and best practices in education
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree (M.A / M.Sc / M.Com) with B.Ed / M.Ed
- Teaching experience: 8–12 years, including leadership roles
- Prior experience as Academic Coordinator / HOD / Vice Principal preferred
