Job Summary

The Nursing Principal is the chief academic and administrative authority of the Nursing College, responsible for academic leadership, regulatory compliance, faculty management, student development, and overall institutional performance in accordance with INC, TNNMC, and affiliating university norms.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership

  • Provide strategic academic direction for B.Sc, PB-B.Sc, and M.Sc Nursing programs.
  • Ensure curriculum delivery as per INC, TNNMC, and University regulations.
  • Promote teaching excellence, research, and evidence-based nursing education.
  • Monitor academic outcomes, examination results, and quality benchmarks.

Administration & Governance

  • Oversee day-to-day administration and institutional policy implementation.
  • Manage faculty recruitment, workload allocation, performance appraisal, and development.
  • Prepare academic calendars, timetables, and staffing plans.
  • Ensure statutory compliance, audits, and reporting requirements.

Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance

  • Lead INC / TNNMC inspections, renewals, and documentation.
  • Maintain academic and administrative records required for inspections and audits.
  • Implement quality assurance systems and best practices.

Faculty & Student Development

  • Mentor faculty for academic growth, research, and professional development.
  • Foster a disciplined, ethical, and student-centric learning environment.
  • Address student grievances and support student welfare initiatives.

Clinical Coordination

  • Ensure effective clinical affiliations and hospital tie-ups.
  • Monitor quality of clinical teaching and student postings.
  • Coordinate with hospitals for faculty deployment and clinical supervision.

Institutional Growth & Representation

  • Support admissions, outreach, and institutional branding initiatives.
  • Represent the institution before regulatory bodies, universities, and public forums.
  • Promote collaborations, MoUs, and community health initiatives.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc Nursing (any specialty) – Mandatory
  • Ph.D. in Nursing – Preferred (as per INC norms)
  • Minimum 15 years of teaching experience, including administrative experience as Vice Principal / HOD / Principal
  • Valid TNNMC Registration

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong academic and administrative leadership
  • In-depth knowledge of INC, TNNMC, and University regulations
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and team management skills
  • Experience in inspections, audits, and accreditation processes
  • Strategic planning and institutional development capability

Salary

As per INC norms / Management policy (commensurate with qualification and experience)
