Video Content Creator

We are expanding our Video Content Team and are looking for a charismatic and engaging individual to help take our online presence to the next level!

This individual will join our already amazing team as a full-time employee and be an additional face of High Point by representing our brands through multiple media outlets such as our YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook, and the High Point website. The right fit:

We're looking for an already established video content creator located in Tucson, AZ. This ideal candidate should have a natural, engaging on-screen personality, the ability to connect with viewers in a compelling and natural way, and complement our current video production team. Ideally, they would be active in online astrophotography and astronomy communities and have a good sense of current astrophotography and astronomy trends. We prefer this be an in-person position. However, we would consider a remote position for a standout candidate with a proven track record of high-quality video production within our industry.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the content team to conceptualize and write different types of video content scripts, including, but not limited to, new and current product reviews, event highlights, and educational content
• Create compelling videos, including A-roll, B-roll, and graphics, using Adobe Premier and associated programs to achieve desired goals
• In conjunction with video projects, complete complementary product photography of the new and current gear for both the website and supplementary written content (including editing with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom)
• Test and review visual astronomy and astrophotography gear for video and written content
• Engage with the online community through our media outlets and represent the High Point brand appropriately
• Take advantage of clear nights to meet video project goals

Qualifications:

• Comfortability being in front of a camera for video creation
• Experience using video editing software, such as Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects, to produce high-quality video content
• Experience using appropriate equipment for video production, including lighting, cameras, lenses, software, etc. Bonus points for Sony users
• Astrophotography experience, including image acquisition, gear selection, image editing/critiquing, and troubleshooting
• Deep understanding of astrophotography and general astronomy concepts
• Ability to simplify complex subjects in an engaging manner through an onscreen presence and through compelling graphics
• Excellent communication skills, both in-person and over online communication platforms, such as Slack and Google Meet
• Social media literacy, including how to research trends, posting, and replying to comments
• Excellent computer skills; needs to be able to type and use Google Suite
