- Reporting To: Head of Digital Marketing
Basic Job Purpose
The Video Editor is responsible for producing high-quality, creative video content that supports brand awareness, lead generation, and audience engagement. This role plays a key part in delivering compelling visual storytelling aligned with marketing campaigns and client branding.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Duties
- Edit video content for social media platforms to support campaigns and captivate audience attention.
- Add subtitles, transitions, sound design, and effects to improve accessibility and viewer retention.
- Optimise videos for different platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.) by applying format-specific adjustments.
- Organise and maintain structured video file libraries for efficient reuse and content access.
Contribute to brainstorming sessions, providing creative input to enhance originality and campaign impact.
Collaboration Duties
- Work closely with the content and design teams to ensure video content aligns with messaging and brand direction.
- Participate in daily meetings (Google Meet/WhatsApp/ClickUp) for project updates and feedback.
- Liaise with external contractors or freelancers when overflow support is needed.
Accountabilities
- Content Quality: Deliver creative and polished videos with minimal revision requirements.
- Platform Readiness: Ensure all content is exported in the correct format for each platform.
- Workflow Efficiency: Maintain well-organised video libraries to support campaign agility.
- Collaboration: Actively support the marketing team through communication and shared feedback.
Reporting Requirements
- Direct Report To: Head of Digital Marketing
Daily: Editing progress, file updates, and alignment with content/design team.
Weekly: Contribution to creative concepts and campaign reviews.
As Needed: Escalations for approvals on style, publishing, or resource requirements.
Decision-Making Authority
- Independent: Editing techniques, creative execution within brand guidelines.
- Requires Approval: Final visual style, video publishing, and requests for additional resources.
Minimum RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum: 2 years professional experience in video editing.
- Preferred: 3–5 years with experience in marketing-driven video content.
Technical & Other Requirements
- Languages: Professional proficiency in English.
- Software & Tools: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Canva, AI-assisted editing tools (Runway, Caption.ai, ChatGPT).
- Other Skills: Creativity, attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet deadlines.
