Video Editor & Digital Content Specialist

We are representing a premier, independent insurance brokerage in San Jose that is redefining retirement planning through education. Our client is a mission-driven firm that follows a unique "Simple, Educational, and Transparent" (SET) process to help retirees achieve financial peace of mind.

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Video Editor to lead their digital presence. This is a pivotal role for a storyteller who understands how to turn complex financial concepts – like Hybrid Pensions and Medicare – into engaging, high-performing video content for YouTube and social media.

Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite/Hybrid options may be discussed) Compensation: $50,000 – $80,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Production: Edit high-quality educational videos using Final Cut Pro, ensuring all content aligns with the firm’s "SET" philosophy.
• YouTube Management: Manage the firm’s YouTube channel, including the creation of long-form educational content and high-impact YouTube Shorts.
• Visual Strategy: Design eye-catching, high-click-through-rate (CTR) thumbnails and social media assets.
• Script Writing & Optimization: Collaborate with the advisor team to write and refine scripts that are both informative and optimized for viewer retention.
• SEO Mastery: Implement YouTube and Social Media SEO best practices (titles, tags, descriptions) to expand the firm's reach to retirees nationwide.
• Independent Project Management: Act as a self-starter, managing the content calendar from initial concept through to final upload and promotion.

Qualifications

• Software Expertise: Professional-level proficiency in Final Cut Pro is mandatory.
• Proven Track Record: Experience growing or managing a YouTube channel with a focus on educational or "how-to" content.
• The "Social" Edge: Deep understanding of short-form video trends (Shorts/Reels) and how to hook an audience in the first 3 seconds.
• Attention to Detail: An eagle eye for pacing, audio levels, color grading, and on-screen graphics.
• Communication: Strong scriptwriting skills; ability to take complex financial topics and make them digestible for a senior demographic.
• Industry Interest: While a background in Finance/Insurance isn't required, a willingness to learn the "ins and outs" of retirement planning is essential to ensure content accuracy.
