Video Editor - Latin America

About the Role

We are looking for a talented, self-driven Freelance Video Editor based in Latin America to join our content team on a part-time basis — with strong potential to grow into a long-term, higher-volume engagement.

You will receive raw footage from us and independently deliver polished, platform-ready short-form video content optimized for Instagram Reels and TikTok. No hand-holding — we trust your creative instincts and editing expertise to produce content that performs.

What You'll Do

• Edit short-form videos (15–90 seconds) for Instagram Reels and TikTok from raw footage supplied by our team
• Apply trending formats, transitions, pacing, and visual styles relevant to current social media audiences
• Add music, text overlays, captions, and motion elements that match brand tone and platform best practices
• Deliver final exports in the correct aspect ratios and specs for each platform (9:16, 1:1, etc.)
• Meet tight turnaround deadlines — fast delivery is a core part of this role
• Maintain consistency across content series while keeping a fresh, engaging aesthetic
• Communicate proactively about timelines, questions, and creative decisions

RequirementsMust-Have

• Proven experience editing Instagram Reels and/or TikTok content (portfolio required)
• Strong sense of timing, pacing, and short-form storytelling
• Proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or equivalent editing software
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction from raw footage to finished content
• Fast turnaround capability — ability to deliver edits within 24–48 hours when required
• English proficiency (written communication with our team)
• Reliable internet connection and professional-grade equipment

Nice to Have

• Spanish language proficiency
• Experience with motion graphics, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve
• Background in social media marketing or content strategy
• Familiarity with trending audio, sounds, and viral formats across platforms

Engagement Details

Contract Type:

Freelance / Independent Contractor

Location:

Remote — must be based in Latin America (Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, or similar)

Hours:

Part-time to start (~10–20 hrs/week or per-video basis). Strong potential to expand based on performance and business growth.

Compensation & Rate Research

We offer competitive freelance rates benchmarked to local market conditions across Latin America.

Based on the above research, we propose the following structure:

• salary of $700 base + $500+ in performance monthly salary, full-time position.

Justification:

The per-video model aligns incentives, rewards speed, and is standard practice in the Latin American freelance creator market. Our rates sit at the mid-to-upper range for experienced editors — not entry-level candidates — and compensate for the independent, low-direction nature of the work. Rates are paid in USD, which is strongly preferred by editors in markets such as Argentina and Colombia.
