Videographer/Photographer

Company Overview

Blues Hog manufactures premium BBQ sauces, rubs, seasonings, and ready-to-eat BBQ products in Washington, Missouri. We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented videographer/photographer to join our internal marketing team and help bring our products, recipes, events, and brand story to life through video and photography.

This role is video-first, but the right candidate must also be comfortable capturing high-quality photography for product, recipe, lifestyle, event, ecommerce, and social media use.

Role Overview

The Videographer / Photographer will be responsible for planning, shooting, editing, and delivering video content for social media, paid ads, ecommerce, events, product launches, and marketing campaigns. This person should understand how to create compelling short-form and long-form video, while also being able to capture strong still photography when needed.

We are looking for someone who can take a project from concept to final delivery, including shot planning, production setup, filming, editing, sound, formatting, and asset organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality video content for social media, paid advertising, ecommerce, product launches, events, and promotional campaigns.
  • Capture high-quality photography for products, recipes, lifestyle content, ecommerce, events, and marketing campaigns.
  • Plan, shoot, and edit short-form video for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, paid social ads, and other digital platforms.
  • Capture compelling still and motion visuals that show Blues Hog products in real cooking, BBQ, retail, event, and lifestyle settings.
  • Own photo and video projects from concept through final delivery, including planning, shot lists, production setup, shooting, editing, file naming, and asset organization.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content that supports campaign goals, product launches, retail initiatives, and brand storytelling.
  • Create content in multiple formats, including vertical, square, horizontal, and platform-specific aspect ratios.
  • Edit video footage using Adobe Premiere Pro or other editing tools.
  • Edit and retouch photography for use across digital, print, ecommerce, and retail materials.
  • Select music, sound effects, pacing, and editing styles that fit the brand, campaign, or event.
  • Create simple motion graphics and product-focused video assets when needed.
  • Repurpose new and existing footage and photography into usable promotional, social, ecommerce, and ad content.
  • Maintain organized digital asset libraries and ensure final files are easy for the marketing team to access and use.
  • Maintain production equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, gimbals, and other gear.
  • Work closely with the digital marketing and graphic design teams to create content that supports marketing priorities.
  • Must be flexible for occasional evening, weekend, or travel shoots based on campaign, event, or production needs.
  • This position is full-time and required to work in-office, with travel required to filming/event locations at times. Freelance editors will not be chosen to fill this position.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in video production, photography, or content creation with a strong portfolio of previous work.
  • Strong video shooting and editing skills, including pacing, sound, storytelling, and platform-specific formatting.
  • Strong photography skills, including composition, lighting, product photography, lifestyle photography, and basic photo editing.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of cameras, lighting, audio recording, gimbals, and production setup.
  • Ability to plan and execute photo and video shoots with limited supervision.
  • Ability to create content that supports the intended platform, audience, and marketing goal.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and file management.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a larger marketing team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, Audition, Lightroom, or Capture One.
  • Experience creating short-form vertical video for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.
  • Experience with food, recipe, BBQ, grilling, CPG, or lifestyle content.
  • Experience creating ecommerce or retail product content for platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, or Target.
  • Experience with run-and-gun event production.
  • Experience with food styling, product photography, or recipe content.
  • Basic motion graphics experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Washington, Missouri. Occasional travel to events, retail locations, production sites, or off-site shoots may be required. Some evening or weekend work may be required based on event schedules or campaign needs.

This is not a freelance editing role. We are looking for someone who can be part of the internal marketing team and help create, manage, and improve Blues Hog’s video and photo content on an ongoing basis.

Video examples are required, and photography examples should show the candidate’s ability to capture polished, usable images for product, food, lifestyle, event, or brand marketing needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
