- Support clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, documenting medical information accurately, and preparing patients for procedures.
- Handle patient inquiries via phone or secure messaging platforms, providing clear guidance and empathetic service.
- Maintain comprehensive medical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with dental professionals to facilitate medication administration, phlebotomy procedures, or other clinical support as needed.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems proficiently to update records, track patient progress, and ensure seamless data management.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and pharmacology relevant to dental and general healthcare settings.
- Experience with medical office management, including scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems.
- Familiarity with outpatient care procedures such as intake assessments, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS).
- Background in medical assisting roles within hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; inpatient or hospital experience is a plus.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Knowledge of medical documentation standards, ICD coding practices, and accurate record keeping for compliance purposes.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies like EMR/EHR platforms and maintain high levels of accuracy in data entry.
