Virtual Medical Front Desk Coordinator - Bilingual Spanish

Job Overview

Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc is seeking a compassionate and highly organised Virtual Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time/Part-time, remote position. Since 1977, our organisation has been committed to providing exceptional end-of-life care, serving patients of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses. As the first point of contact for our patients and their families, you will play a crucial role in delivering a supportive and professional experience that reflects our core values of empathy and dignity. This position requires fluency in both English and Spanish to serve our diverse community effectively.

The offered salary for this role is between $20 and $39 USD per hour, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

* Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare professionals, managing all inbound and outbound communications with professionalism and empathy.
* Handle patient enquiries in both English and Spanish via telephone, email, and other virtual platforms.
* Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments and consultations with our clinical staff.
* Manage the virtual reception area, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of information and communication.
* Collect and accurately update patient information in our electronic medical records system, ensuring all data is current and confidential.
* Provide general administrative support to the palliative care team to assist in the delivery of high-quality patient care.
* Liaise between patients and medical staff, conveying messages accurately and promptly.
* Uphold strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all data protection policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

* Essential: Complete fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
* Proven experience in a front desk, reception, or administrative role, ideally within a healthcare or medical setting.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to interact compassionately with individuals during sensitive times.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the capacity to multitask effectively in a remote environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using virtual communication tools.
* The ability to work independently and manage a remote workload with a high degree of discipline and motivation.
* A private, quiet, and professional workspace with a reliable, high-speed internet connection is required.
* Previous experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with medical terminology would be a significant advantage.
