Design Leadership & Architectural Planning
- Serve as a client-facing design expert, representing NexCore and Experience Senior Living in early visioning and throughout project delivery.
- Lead architectural programming, building concepts, operational flow diagrams, blocking and stacking, and unit design for healthcare.
- Develop test fits, site plans, landscape concepts, parking plans, and interior layout solutions that align with operational, regulatory, and brand standards.
- Design, draw and render conceptual site plans, floor plans, building exteriors and interiors for presentations, proposals, and for design team direction.
- Review, critique, and elevate design work across multiple concurrent projects including interior design concepts, FF&E coordination, lighting, RCPs, flooring schedules, art selection, and finish standards.
- Apply healthcare codes, FGI guidelines, AHJs, and licensing requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead or support the generation and review of 3D renderings, visualizations, and client presentation materials.
- Assist in developing, refining, and documenting NexCore’s and ESL’s brand, design, and planning standards.
Consultant Coordination & Project Management
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, civil, MEP, structural, interior designers, and specialty consultants to ensure alignment, quality, and milestone achievement.
- Review consultant deliverables, synthesize feedback, and drive consensus among internal stakeholders, operations teams, and healthcare clients.
- Support development, construction, and capital teams in managing design decision-making aligned with schedule, cost, and pro forma requirements.
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Actively support NexCore’s business development efforts, including pursuits, proposals, client interviews, and conference participation.
- Serve as a trusted design advisor in early engagement meetings, helping prospective clients conceptualize program needs and shaping compelling solutions.
- Participate in relationship-building with health system executives, hospital administrators, physicians, senior living operators, architects, and industry partners.
- Identify emerging opportunities within new and existing client relationships and communicate them to the development team.
- Demonstrate growing capability as a seller–doer, able to contribute meaningfully to winning work while delivering excellence.
- Contribute to NexCore’s reputation for thought leadership by supporting presentations, panel participation, and industry outreach.
Innovation & Brand Stewardship
- Promote sustainable design practices, WELL/LEED principles, and innovative operational strategies aligned with NexCore’s brand values.
- Collaborate with the SVP, Design & Innovation to elevate NexCore’s design identity and ensure best-in-class resident, patient, provider, and client experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Accredited degree in Architecture.
- Active architectural license (NCARB).
- 5–10 years of post-internship experience in healthcare architectural design (ambulatory/outpatient, MOBs, ASC, cancer centers, or similar).
- Strong capability in programming, planning, clinical workflows, and technical design.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling tools (SketchUp, Rhino, or similar).
- Proven ability to engage with clients and design teams in a polished, professional manner.
- Demonstrated interest, aptitude, or early experience in business development, client meetings, proposals, interviews, or industry engagement.
Preferred
- Active architectural license (NCARB).
- Certifications such as ACHA, EDAC, LEED AP, WELL AP, or Lean design.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills—verbal, written, and visual.
Benefits
- Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 / year
