VP of Operations - Digital Marketing Agency (President Track)

Florida-based digital marketing agency (20+ years, 65+ PPC clients, 140 SEO and web design/hosting client) seeks experienced agency operator to lead operations and own P&L.

This is NOT a consultant role. This is full-time operational leadership.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Run agency operations (not just managed accounts)
  • Sold and delivered B2B service retainers ($5K-$15K/month)
  • Personally managed Google Ads campaigns at scale
  • Built and managed offshore teams (India/Philippines)
  • Owned P&L and grown agency revenue

The Situation:

Our PPC Director will likely leave the company in Q2 - Q3, 2026. We need an operator who can:

  • Replace him if and when that should happen (expert PPC skills required)
  • Retain 65+ PPC client relationships (excellent communication)
  • Scale the business (build Premier Packages, offshore teams)
  • Own operations (run the business, not just execute tasks)

This is a President/Operating Partner role with equity upside for the right person.

What You'll Do:

Months 1-3: Stabilize & Transition

  • Meet all 65 clients personally
  • Work with departing PPC Director (knowledge transfer)
  • Audit all PPC accounts and client relationships
  • Ensure zero client churn during transition
  • Begin upgrading existing clients to Premium Packages

Months 4-6: Build & Scale

  • Hire and train India-based PPC team
  • Manage Philippines-based SEO team
  • Close 5-7 Premium Package upgrades ($8K-$15K/month)
  • Systemize service delivery

Months 7-12: Own & Grow

  • Drive LinkedIn outbound sales strategy
  • Build strategic partnership referral network
  • Manage offshore execution teams
  • Own P&L (revenue, margins, profit)

Must-Haves (We're Serious About These):

10+ years in digital marketing agency operations (not in-house, not freelance)

Expert-level Google Ads/PPC knowledge - You must be able to:

  • Audit and optimize $100K-$150K/month PPC accounts
  • Set bid strategies, campaign structure, audience targeting
  • Train offshore PPC specialists
  • Step in hands-on for 90 days during transition

Has sold B2B service retainers ($5K-$15K/month range)

  • We're not selling $99/month commodity services
  • You've conducted discovery calls and closed $50K-$100K annual contracts
  • You understand consultative selling (not pitch-based)

Agency client services experience

  • Managed 30+ ongoing client relationships simultaneously
  • Monthly performance calls and accountability
  • Client retention, not just client acquisition

Offshore team management (or fast learner)

  • Comfortable working with India/Philippines teams
  • Can build, train, and manage remote execution teams
  • Understands time zones and cultural differences

P&L ownership mentality

  • Has managed budgets $500K+
  • Thinks like owner, not employee
  • Cares about profit, not just revenue

Compensation Structure (Read Carefully):

Base Salary: $60,000/year ($5,000/month)

Profit Share: 30% of net profit (paid quarterly, uncapped)

  • Year 1 conservative: $36K-$60K profit share = $96K-$120K total
  • Year 1 aggressive: $60K-$120K profit share = $120K-$180K total
  • Year 2-3: $150K-$300K total (as business scales)
  • Year 3-4: $300K-$420K (if 20% equity earned at $600K profit)
  • Year 4-5: $600K-$1.2M+ (if 30% equity earned at $1M profit)

Equity: Tiered ownership based on performance

Tier 1: $600K annual net profit → 20% equity ownership

  • $600K profit = $180K profit share + $120K-$240K equity value (2-4x multiple)
  • Total Year 3-4 comp: $300K-$420K

Tier 2: $1M annual net profit → 30% equity ownership (additional 10%)

Q: What's Bruce's role after I'm hired? A: Bruce will coach you heavily in Months 1-3 (5-15 hours/week), then step back to 5 hours/week by Month 4. His goal is 1 hour/day max involvement.

Q: What if I don't hit $600K profit and don't get equity? A: Then you still make $60K base + 30% of whatever profit you do generate. At $300K profit, you'd make $150K total comp. At $450K profit, you'd make $195K. Equity is a bonus for exceptional performance, not the only upside.
