Job Description
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The VP/Division Manager, Jacksonville (Division Manager) is a key representative and senior leader of Evans. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and administering the overall operations, performance, profitability, and growth of Evans’ Jacksonville Division.
The Division Manager will be focused on business development and market expansion, growing Evans’ footprint within the Florida market and externally by pursuing opportunities across Industrial, Manufacturing, Mission Critical, and emerging specialized markets. This position plays a critical role in strengthening client relationships, expanding strategic partnerships, and ensuring projects are delivered consistently with Evans’ standards, culture, and reputation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a strategic business plan to support the growth, sustainability, and long-term success of the Jacksonville Division.
- Actively pursue and secure new project opportunities across Florida and beyond.
- Expand Evans’ presence within Industrial, Manufacturing, Mission Critical, and additional market sectors aligned with Evans’ short and long-term strategy.
- Secure repeat work with existing clients based on Evans’ performance and relationships developed on previous projects.
- Act as Evans’ representative by participating in industry activities, engaging with clients, and supporting strategic business growth initiatives.
- Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for the Jacksonville Division’s operations and financial performance to ensure the financial, operational, and growth objectives are met.
- Participate in company-wide strategy, planning, and leadership initiatives with Senior Management.
- Oversee and support the preconstruction and construction phases to ensure successful, profitable, and timely delivery of projects.
- Participate in Owner contract negotiations in collaboration with the Preconstruction and Legal Departments.
- Support the Preconstruction Department by ensuring thorough subcontractor and vendor prequalification, adequate market coverage, and detailed review of drawings and scopes.
- Recruit, allocate, supervise, coach, and develop project teams to ensure successful project execution and long-term employee growth.
- Promote Evans’ people-first culture, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee project controls related to Quality, Safety, Risk Management, Owner Relations, and Compliance.
- Analyze past and current project performance to identify risks and implement processes, procedures, and controls to mitigate exposure.
- Provide consistent and clear communication with internal team members, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other partners.
- Consistently demonstrate professional credibility, integrity, trust, and commitment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the objectives of the Jacksonville Division and Evans.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in construction project management and leadership, with emphasis on Design-Build delivery.
- Proven success in business development and division-level growth.
- Strong background in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mission Critical, or similarly complex commercial construction projects.
- Deep understanding of construction operations, scheduling, estimating, and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Superior communication skills with a strong ability to influence decisions of team members, partners and customers.
