Job Summary

The Waiter / Waitress is responsible for providing professional, friendly, and efficient service to guests, ensuring an exceptional dining experience. The role includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, assisting guests with menu selections, maintaining cleanliness of service areas, and supporting the restaurant team in achieving high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

· Welcome guests professionally and assist them throughout their dining experience.

· Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.

· Make recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary requirements.

· Ensure guests receive prompt, courteous, and attentive service at all times.

Order Taking & Service

· Accurately take food and beverage orders using the restaurant's POS system.

· Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen and bar teams.

· Serve food and beverages according to restaurant service standards.

· Check orders before serving to ensure accuracy and presentation quality.

· Monitor guest tables and respond promptly to requests.

Sales & Upselling

· Promote menu items, beverages, desserts, and special promotions.

· Upsell additional products to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.

· Maintain knowledge of all menu offerings and ingredients.

Table Maintenance

· Prepare and set tables before service.

· Clear tables promptly and reset them for new guests.

· Ensure dining areas remain clean, organized, and presentable throughout service.

· Replenish service stations with required supplies.

Billing & Cash Handling

· Present bills accurately and process payments according to company procedures.

· Handle cash, credit card transactions, and receipts responsibly.

· Ensure all guest charges are accurately recorded.

Teamwork & Operations

· Work closely with kitchen staff, runners, hosts, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

· Assist colleagues during busy periods.

· Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

· Follow all company policies and service procedures.

Hygiene & Safety

· Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.

· Follow food safety and sanitation regulations.

· Ensure cleanliness of work areas, service stations, and dining sections.

· Comply with health and safety requirements at all times.

Requirements

· Previous experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant, café, or hotel preferred.

· Excellent customer service and communication skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling.

· Professional appearance and positive attitude.

· Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
