Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Counseling & Support:
- Counsel patients and their attendants regarding the diagnosis, available treatment options, and expected outcomes.
- Explain treatment procedures, duration of stay, and post-treatment care in an understandable manner.
- Offer emotional support to patients and families during stressful medical situations.
- Treatment & Cost Explanation:
- Clearly explain the estimated cost of treatment, package details, inclusions/exclusions, and payment options.
- Coordinate with billing and TPA departments for cost approvals and insurance-related queries.
- Ensure patients understand the financial implications before initiating treatment.
- Coordination with Medical Team:
- Liaise between patients, doctors, and nursing staff to ensure clarity and smooth communication.
- Arrange doctor consultations and clarify doubts raised by patients or their families.
- Admission & Discharge Support:
- Guide patients through the admission process, documentation, and consent forms.
- During discharge, explain follow-up visits, medication schedules, and further care instructions.
- Patient Feedback & Relationship Management:
- Collect and document patient feedback to assess satisfaction levels.
- Address minor grievances and escalate major issues to the concerned department for resolution.
- Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain counseling records, cost discussions, and patient communication logs.
- Prepare daily or weekly counseling reports for management review.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology / Social Work / Hospital Administration / Nursing or related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in patient counseling or front office role in a hospital.
- Skills Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach
- Knowledge of hospital services, treatment procedures, and billing systems
- Fluency in English and local language
