Warehouse Assistant

Job Purpose

The Warehouse Assistant plays a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations and ensuring timely, safe, and accurate deliveries. This position is responsible for handling shipping and receiving, assisting with logistics, and maintaining inventory organization. This position requires the ability to lift, load, and secure materials up to 50 lbs., inspect materials for accuracy and damage, and execute other assigned duties to support the overall efficiency of warehouse operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Comply with all federal, state, and local driving regulations

· Maintain drivers log and pre-trip inspections

· Responsible for general care and cleanliness of company vehicles (Smoking in vehicle prohibited)

· Assist employees to reserve a scope truck

· Inspects material, checks for shortages, and rejects damaged goods

· Ability to safely lift, load, and secure material/equipment

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Assisting Warehouse Manager in daily operations

· Shipping and Receiving

· Schedule Logistics for deliveries

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous warehouse, logistics, or delivery experience preferred.
• Experience operating a forklifts is a plus.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, inventory management, and logistics is beneficial.

· Proficiency in using inventory management and shipping software.

· Basic knowledge of GPS navigation and routing applications.

· Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) for driver logs and compliance.

· Basic computer skills, including email and data entry for shipping and receiving records.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documentation.

· Excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.

· Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

· Commitment to safety and following proper procedures.

· Problem-solving skills to address delivery or warehouse challenges effectively.

Working Conditions

· Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and securing of materials up to 50 lbs.

· Standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods.

· May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on business needs.

· Adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.

· Work may involve navigating tight or busy job sites for deliveries.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs. regularly.

· Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

· Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers multiple times per day.

· Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating equipment and handling materials.

· Adequate vision and hearing to safely operate vehicles and warehouse equipment.

· Stamina to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
