Warehouse Helper / General Assistant

Job Objective

The primary goal of this role is to provide essential manual support to the warehouse and logistics team. The Helper ensures that goods are loaded, unloaded, and organized efficiently while maintaining a clean, safe, and productive work environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Loading & Unloading: Assist in the manual loading and unloading of trucks, containers, and delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled with care.
• Picking & Packing: Support the fulfillment team by accurately picking items from shelves and packing them securely for shipment according to packing lists.
• Palletizing: Assist VNA/Reach Truck drivers by wrapping pallets with stretch film, labeling them correctly, and preparing them for storage or dispatch.
• Housekeeping: Maintain warehouse cleanliness by removing debris (cardboard, plastic wrap, broken pallets) and ensuring aisles remain clear of obstructions.
• Inventory Support: Assist in manual stock counts and re-labeling of products as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Basic Assembly: Perform basic assembly, sorting, or kitting tasks as required for specific customer orders.
• Safety Observation: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.

Qualifications

• Education: Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read labels and count items accurately).
• Physical Capability: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (within legal limits), and perform repetitive manual tasks.
• Language: Basic communication skills in English.
• Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or labor-intensive environment is preferred but not mandatory.
