Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Objective:
To ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and productivity within the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Warehouse Operations Management
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily warehouse operations.
- Ensure timely receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and proper documentation.
- Implement efficient layout and storage systems to optimize space utilization.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and condition.
2. Inventory Control
- Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile with system records.
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
- Identify and report stock discrepancies, damages, or losses.
- Establish reorder levels and coordinate with purchasing for replenishment.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) principles are followed.
3. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise warehouse staff including supervisors, forklift operators, and helpers.
- Assign daily work schedules, monitor performance, and ensure targets are met.
- Provide training and guidance to improve team efficiency and safety awareness.
- Conduct performance evaluations and promote a culture of accountability.
4. Process Improvement
- Review and improve warehouse processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement best practices in material handling, packaging, and inventory systems.
- Coordinate with other departments (procurement, logistics, service) to ensure smooth operations.
- Introduce automation or digital tracking systems (e.g., Odoo, barcode scanners).
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and government regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and enforce proper use of PPE and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse (5S standards).
- Prepare reports on incidents, damages, or unsafe conditions.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse performance reports.
- Maintain accurate records of receipts, transfers, returns, and shipments.
- Update ERP/warehouse management systems with real-time inventory data.
- Support management with stock analysis and cost-control insights.
7. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with procurement, sales, and service departments for order planning.
- Coordinate with logistics providers for transport and dispatch schedules.
- Communicate with clients regarding delivery timelines and inventory status.
8. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor operational expenses and optimize resource usage.
- Reduce wastage, handling errors, and downtime.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and cost forecasting for warehouse operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Management (preferred).
- 5+ years of warehouse or inventory management experience.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle).
- Understanding of safety regulations and warehouse best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
