Warehouse Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective handling of goods. The Warehouse Manager will lead a team to maintain high standards for inventory accuracy, on-time order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong operational leadership, continuous improvement mindset, and hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP integration.
Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns to meet service and accuracy targets.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies; conduct regular safety audits, training, and incident investigations.

Manage and optimize inventory control processes: cycle counting, reconciliation, discrepancy resolution, and shrinkage reduction.

Oversee use and configuration of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning technology to improve throughput and accuracy.

Coordinate with procurement, planning, and transportation teams to prioritize inbound and outbound schedules and reduce lead times.

Supervise, train, and coach warehouse staff, including forklift operators and material handlers; manage staffing, scheduling, and performance reviews.

Implement and sustain LEAN/Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs.

Manage cold storage and hazardous materials handling in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements.

Oversee order fulfillment workflows to ensure timely and accurate shipments and maintain KPIs for on-time delivery and order accuracy.

Partner with IT and finance to support ERP (SAP, Oracle) integrations, reporting, and system improvements.

Monitor and report operational KPIs (inventory accuracy, order cycle times, dock-to-stock, fill rate, labor productivity) and develop corrective actions.

Maintain equipment and facility readiness; coordinate preventive maintenance and capital expenditure requests.

Manage barcode labeling/printing and ensure labeling accuracy across the facility.

Work with carriers and 3PL providers to optimize transportation costs, service levels, and routing.

Conduct quality control checks and root cause analysis for returns, damages, and customer complaints.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of progressive warehouse supervisory or management experience in distribution operations.

Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning; hands-on exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA compliance, hazardous materials handling, and cold storage operations.

Forklift certification and practical experience supervising forklift operations and material handling teams.

Strong inventory management skills including cycle counting, inventory control, and shrinkage reduction techniques.

Experience with shipping and receiving processes, picking and packing operations, and barcode labeling/printing.

Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis) and experience with KPI tracking and reporting.

Familiarity with LEAN / Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement methodologies; certifications a plus.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.

Experience with transportation management, carrier coordination, and cost optimization.

Ability to work flexible hours as required by operational needs and to respond to urgent issues.

Preferred: certifications such as OSHA 30, Six Sigma Green/Yellow Belt, and relevant safety or logistics credentials.
